An adult mosquito often travels only a few dozen metres from the water it hatched in. Which means: if they are bothering you, the breeding site is almost always on your property or right next door. Treating the adults without removing the site means starting again every week.

How to recognise an infestation
- Bites at dusk, especially around the patio, pond or pool.
- Visible larvae — small wriggling threads — in standing water.
- A cloud lifting when you part dense or low planting.
- Trouble concentrated on one terrace or garden rather than across the whole property.
Why waiting costs more
Beyond the discomfort, a terrace nobody can use at aperitif hour is a commercial problem for a riad, hotel or restaurant. The tiger mosquito, now present in Morocco, also bites in daylight and breeds in very little water.
